Beyond Broken

Manifesting

Many of us talk about manifesting.  What is it?  I like this definition: In the simplest terms, manifestation is putting your intentions towards something that you hope will happen, then watching it happen in real life.  In other words, if you think it, it’ll come true.

A year ago a group of around eight friends met at our new home on the Chesapeake Bay.  It was the first time we had a group at our home and felt like a housewarming as I hung everyone’s coats up in the never-before-used coat closet and made an apple spice cake in my new kitchen.  One of our group had gathered us together, alternative healing practitioners on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.  She wanted to see what would happen if we got together and collectively shared our wildest dreams.  We created a simple altar, lit a candle and everyone contributed their ideas for how to promote healing, and our services, on the Eastern Shore.

My contribution was to play the song, Your Wildest Dreams by The Moody Blues.

I also like the description of Spiritual Manifesting: Spiritual Manifesting is when you’re flowing and not forcing.  It is different from goal setting because it is like you are co-creating with the universe.

So the meeting was interesting.  I got to meet a few new like-minded people, but like most brainstorming sessions a lot of ideas were thrown around with no concrete action plan formulated.

One idea that I knew a lot about was creating a Wellness Weekend which could feature all the diverse talent of the group.  I had helped create and participated in these kinds of weekends often when organizing Members’ Weekends and the International Conference  at Sevenoaks Retreat Center.  On a random day when I had a few extra minutes I looked up the Eastern Shore Tourism Board and called them. I got the marketing director live on the phone and she loved the idea.  Our small town of Cape Charles needs events to bring in people on what I now know is called the “shoulder season”, when the weather is beautiful like April and May and September and October.  And at the Shore, the sky, water, the sunsets, the quiet… it is so healing in and of itself.

She referred me to Main Street Cape Charles which supports these events and we were off and running.  We are a small group organizing an event that we predict will attract 100 women to Cape Charles next April 5,6,7th.  We have not always been in the flow and when there is forcing we let go until the next flow comes about.  We hope this will become an annual event and programs for the weekend are amazing and diverse and will be held at venues that are on the bay and beautiful.  Weather permitting we will have Yoga, Drum Circles and a Labyrinth Walks all on the beach.  Everyone we talk to says it’s a great idea and so many people have pitched in to help.  No one has said a discouraging word. A lot of positive energy seems to accompany us.

Manifestation is real.  But it is not  like you think it and there it is.  But step by step as doors open and  manifestation does start to happen it is very rewarding and confirming that there is a universe that want to cooperate with us if we  pay attention and look for the flow.  And this is a practice of course.

So I wanted to give all of you a sneak preview to the event, and hope some of you will venture out to beautiful, magical Cape Charles and share our wildest dreams with us.  Save The Date and registration opens December 1st.  It will be limited to 100 people and support to find housing of all kinds will be available.

I will be offering a one day workshop on Mindfulness and Self Compassion condensing the year long  on line course I offered this year to 2o women into a one day in person experience.  The class this year has truly changed our relationship with ourselves to a kinder, more authentic version of each of us.  One class member even got a tattoo on her wrist which sums it up, “I am enough.”  I hope some of you from the class will enjoy this deeper in person dive and a trip to Cape Charles and some of you that missed the class with attend.  Also please go to Facebook and follow us for more updates at Women’s Wellness Weekend ESVA.

Here is the schedule of events and our official Virginia is for Wellness Lovers designation which we are most recently proud of getting.

Here is the sneak preview of the Schedule for our Wellness Weekend – Save the date – April 4, 5, 6 2024.
