Announcing a new 3 part series—Beginning January 2024
Revealing the Near Enemy: Deepening Your Capacity for Compassion and Authentic Connection.
As we commit ourselves to more compassionate lives we find sneaky/masky “near enemies” of compassion creeping in to disrupt our real connections.
“Near Enemies are states that appear similar to the desired qualities but actually undermine it.”
—Chris Germer
“The Near Enemies depict how spirituality can be misunderstood or misused to separate us from life”
—Jack Kornfield
There is a place in us that is always trying to avoid connecting with others suffering —
of being in this together — our common humanity.
Let’s dive in.

Without awareness near enemies drive us to be disconnected from ourselves and others. Together we will rise up to affirm our authentic sacred core values with fierce compassion and allow our hearts to break open with suffering and mercy for ourselves and others.
This work is especially helpful for couples,
so I encourage you to consider participating with your partner!
This workshop series will be based on the work by Christoper Germer on the Near Enemy of Self Compassion and a Podcast Series with Chris Germer and Brené Brown. With additional material from Tara Brach’s book Radical Compassion, Brené Brown’s Book Atlas of the Heart, Pathwork Lectures and other sources.
